Sports Vision FAQs

Is Sports Vision Important?

If you are considering a new sport, you will want to schedule a sports vision eye exam. This type of exam will evaluate your vision and the health of your eyes and will give you a chance to understand how to protect your eyes while playing your sport. It is imperative that you protect your eyes and vision while you are participating in sports. Discuss any eye safety concerns you have with our eye doctor when you come in for a sports vision screening.

What Eye Gear Do I Need?

The type of eye gear you will need will depend on the type of sport you are playing. If you already use corrective lenses, your sports eye gear may need to be customized to accommodate your prescription. We can help you with this in our office.

Other Considerations

If you experience a sports injury that affects your eyes, you will need to visit an eye doctor as soon as possible. This could include an impact injury to your eyes or it could also include debris getting into your eye. Debris in your eyes could cause serious damage. If left untreated it could affect your long-term eye health, your vision, and your ability to participate in sports.

In addition to sports vision screening, it is necessary to make an annual eye exam appointment in order to protect your eyes and your vision.

We provide these services for the entire family at our facility.
